I like to think that I come from a crafty family. When I was a kid, my mom was the maharishi of the sewing machine. She would create beautiful matching dresses for my older sister and me... the little Irish twins that we were. The skill that she used to make the clothing was beyond compare. Oh, how I longed to sit in front of that intriguing looking machine, with all it shiny knobs and racecar pedal, and sew away. When it became apparent that the sewing machine was "not a toy" and I was not likely going to play with it, my attention turned to drawing pictures of it.
