Meet my new friend, Professor Pocket, who has a magic pocket chock full of surprises. In addition to riding her bike she enjoys learning new languages and loves to travel with her friends, Desi and Chico. Her darling friend Desi is a blue dinosaur, when not drinking chocolate milk he loves to sing in Spanish - "Me gusta cantar en Espanol". When their adventures take them to the farm they have a wonderful time with Chico, the guitar playing chicken, who introduces them to his relatives and the other farm characters.
You'll love the song about a hen and her baby chicks when Chico and his family sing "Los Pollitos". We learn that pigs drive tractors on this farm in "¿ Un Cerdo Manejando un Tractor?". Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry milk in no problem here because each cow delivers special milk. What fun it is when Carlos, the flying horse, takes them on a safe and musical ride in "Vuela Caballo Blanco". Another darling song tells of finding one of the missing sheep caught flying with the horse in "¿ Donde Estan las Ovejas?".
At the red barn there is laughter, adventure and polite fun. I am delighted to find a wonderful company "devoted to bilingual children's entertainment" where the aim is to make learning a new language hip and fun". Sisters-in-law Nathalie Simmons Jorge and Paula Jorge Guglielmino really know what they are doing with their catchy tunes and pleasant dialogue. In writing the great scripts and lyrics they have created a fun and seamless blending of English and Spanish. Their fabulous professional musicians recorded a top notch CD. There is a special section on their website especially for parents and educators where you can view the song translations as well as the vocabulary in the CD.
Please join me, Professor Pocket and friends on Our Silly Farm Adventure and ¡Vamos a cantar - Let's sing!
