Another graduation day was fast approaching and I was dreading the work involved. My daughter was taking a bath and immediately stood up terrified. "Dry pants!  Dry pants!" (which is what we tell her when we are changing her diaper). She had to make potty and felt she needed a diaper to do so.  Then she said "scared" and I knew potty training time was upon me.

There were so many suggestions from friends, family members, and neighbors who had all potty trained their kids (before they were even born it seemed) that it made me very uncomfortable with the task at hand. PottyMD has a product that I found to be quite helpful. Potty Monkey - Potty Training System is a comprehensive system that will make potty training fun for your child, and easier on you.

The product comes in a box that has a Monkey (with diaper), a toy commode that actually flushes, a board book for your child and a book that discuss the system as well as potty training tips for parents. And let us not forget the monkeys underpants for his post potty training attire.

Still feeling a bit overwhelmed even after I got the kit, I soon realized after reading some of the book, that potty training can be a very rewarding and fun process for your child if you follow the right steps. The book is well written with an actual plan for parents to follow.

My daughter was fascinated by the monkey and the commode, and was very pleased to act out the process of sitting on the potty with both her monkey and herself. The flushing toilet also took away some of the fear she had from the noise of our grown up commode. As part of the learning process the Monkey actually has a timer and asks to go to the bathroom at specific intervals based on where your little on is in their training stages. The monkey also sings when placed on the potty as a reward based system of encouragement.

I recommend this product to any parent that has toilet training on the horizon, and wants to begin the process or potty training not only to their children but themselves as well.

I am not sure why children relate so well to acting like animals, but she really seems to like acting like a monkey. Be it jumping around, swinging on my arms (as so many monkeys do), chomping on a banana, and now going to the potty... like a big monkey should!
