Tell us about yourself ...
Bonjour, I am Mademoiselle D. I am married. I have a 22 month -old beautiful little girl,
and I am a work at home mom I am involved with What's Hot For Tots for almost a year
now as a partner and as a Senior Editor. My role is to review the wonderful products
sent to me and my daughter, and to edit the European Flair page.

Tell us about what your website can provide for moms and dads...
What's Hot For Tots' primary goal is to help families. Help parents to make wise
decisions when shopping for their children or for the whole family by featuring products
that we believe will improve their day-to-day, make it funnier, cuter, brighter or more
practical. Moreover, by promoting many Mompreneur products, we are also helping the
families who are behind those products and who are working so hard.

What's Hot For Tots offers so many fabulous products to explore. Where do you get all of your ideas?
We all spend a lot of time, researching the Internet, magazines or just looking around us, while shopping, to find great products to review. We also like to have a direct contact with manufacturers, during events like the JPMA show, because it allows us to always be aware of what new products will enter the market. By doing so, we are sure to always introduce the best products to our readers.

What challenges have you faced as a woman in business?
I think the challenges I faced, and that I am still facing sometimes, are mostly due to the fact that the American way to do business, the American laws, the customs etc. are different from where I grew up. So I will be "studying" for a little while…

How long has What's Hot For Tots been in business?
What's Hot For Tots' first review was posted on the 1st of September 2006. We consider it all as the official start of WHFT.
Although it hasn't been a year yet, I feel like we already accomplished a lot and already gained a lot of acknowledgement.

What inspires your writing?
Mostly my daughter, seeing her reaction towards an item is definitely inspiring. Then, of course, my culture, my language, my readings or my studies influence the way I will approach a review, because this is who I am. Finally, simply being a mom inspires me, because, as a mom, you know from your experience, what will be practical, what is a genius, original or inventive… Discovering a product that you know will change your life or make it easier, is just an awesome feeling and that will of course transpire in my writing.

Contributing to a website and being a full-time mom certainly has its challenges. Is there any advice you can give busy moms on balancing it all?
My advice is very simple: have schedules. I find it much easier when I organize my time and prioritize the things I want to accomplish in just one day. When you are a work at home mom, your home is also your work place. So a lot of things happen and have to be done in just one place. The difficulty is of course to neglect one aspect of your life to an other. Therefore my second advice would be to balance your schedules. Make sure you allow time, every week, for the daily chores, the family, for yourself too, and your work. By making schedules, AND by respecting them, it will become simpler to balance your time in a way that satisfies you.

What advice would you like to offer other parentpreneurs?
Believe in yourself. Trust your instincts as a mom. You, mom, know better than anyone, from your experience, what product you had to have for your children, what works, what doesn't work, what is practical or necessary and what item you desperately missed as a mom. Second I would say: educate yourself… Know the market, know the concurrence, if there is, know the laws, know how the system works, to protect you, to be prepared and to guarantee you a successful adventure.

What is your ideal workday like?
Like most working at home moms, I can only work when my baby is sleeping. So my ideal workday is when I put my baby down for a nap, when I get to work right away, find inspiration right away and finish my work just before she wakes up. That's ideal!

If there is one thing that you could pass on to your child(ren) about being a parentpreneur, what would it be?
It would be that spending time home with your children, seeing them grow up, not missing any precious moment of their lives, and, in the mean time, fulfilling your career needs is a great accomplishment and it has no price to me.

What's next for you and/or you and What's Hot For Tots?
For What's Hot for Tots, the next step is to put a direct spotlight on parentpreneurs. Every month, we will feature a mom- or dadpreneur who will share their success stories with our readers. For my part, I have to say that I like what I am doing right now, so I hope the journey continues…

Favorite Comfort Food
That is a very hard question to ask me because I love to eat! It really depends on the mood du jour… sometimes it can just be a nice big salad or pasta à la bologna, and sometimes it can be a more refined Bœuf Bourguignon or coq au vin. I love cheese too!

Favorite Romantic Comedy
Probably the French movie  "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain", or simply known here as "Amelie", I believe….
It's a just whimsical funny, happy romantic movie, set in Montmartre. I recommend it to everyone.

Favorite Foreign City
I love to travel, and I love a lot of cities around the world for different reasons, but there is one city that is just unique, beautiful and romantic, fabulous and fashionable and it's Paris. Each monument, each little street, the food, the ambiance…it is just incomparable!
