This month, we had the privilege of speaking with the MiGi Girls.
We are delighted to share the following interview with all of you...

Tell us about yourselves ...
Gia :: My name is Gia Russo and I am a partner of MiGi.  I am married
and have a 2-year old son, Grayden.

Michele :: Michele Adams, partner of MiGi.  Married to husband John
and we have a 2 year old son, Jackson.

What does MiGi provide for Moms, Dads
and Kids?

Gia :: Michele and I have designed four original nursery collections,
Sweet, Splash, Pinwheel, and Posy.  The collections include the
core items for a  baby's room (crib bedding sets, rugs and lamps)
along with accessories to  complete the look (blankets, mobiles,
diaper stackers, and window valances). Our designs provide a classic,
fresh look for the nursery at an affordable price. For the media side of the business,
we create original design, style and entertaining content for television, magazines, books,
and the Internet. We draw a lot of our sensibility from our own world of being busy working moms.

MiGi offers such beautiful products. Where do you get all your ideas?
The MiGi philosophy is about personalizing your world to create a stylish and cozy place as unique and extraordinary as you are.  We draw our design inspiration from vintage and classics--creating a timeless look with a modern twist.

Running a business and being a full-time parent certainly has its challenges. How do you balance it all?
Gia :: It's very tough being a mom and running a business.  I don't believe there is a formula for balancing it all. I've learned through trial and error.  I am very organized and believe this has helped me tremendously.  I block out windows of time for work during the day, and I get a lot done after I put my son to bed at night.
Michele :: Setting goals helps you to acknowledge accomplishments.  Prioritize family and work responsibilities to help stay focused.

What advice would you offer to other mompreneurs?
Gia :: Be patient!  Building a business is a slow process so make sure you love your work.
Michele :: Start envisioning how you see your ideal life running day to day and use that to create priorities and a plan to make it happen.

If there is one thing you could pass on to your children about being a parentpreneur, what would it be?
Gia :: Go after your dreams, stay focus, and work hard.  The hard work will pay off in the end.
Michele :: Do what you love to do so it won't seem like work.  There isn't a formula for success but the more you open yourself to opportunities and take on challenges, the greater the rewards.

What is next for the MiGi Girls?
What's next for MiGi is to continue to design and grow the product lines. We have many ideas for products in several different areas - layette, nursery /toddler/ kids room decor, stationery, and party.  We will also focus on growing the website and continue building our work in media.
