I always thought to myself, if I ever have a little girl, she will get a boys regular until she's old enough to take care of her own hair. I watched my friends who have little girls deal with the difficulties of a young girl with long hair. It looks beautiful, but baby/toddler hair tends to be thin and difficult to keep up in a ponytail.

Then I had my little girl and I just couldn't bring myself put her in a barbers' chair for that boys regular. She's 20 months old and if I put a barrette in her hair she immediately pulls it out and proceeds to eat it. I've managed to use a ponytail holder that keeps her hair straight up on top of her head; she will tolerate it for an hour or so.

I recently discovered the sweetest, most comfortable headband that my daughter will wear all day. I am not sure if it is the big colorful flower on the top that makes her happy or the fact that the band is so comfy that she barely notices she has it on. Either way, I can't believe she will wear something that keeps her hair out of her big, beautiful brown eyes, and looks adorable as well.

The band is from Matica Designs which is owned by a mom of two children. She started the company because of the lack of cute comfortable headbands available. I am so glad she did because they couldn't be any cuter and you can even custom make your own by choosing the colors of the band and flowers. The website is so user friendly and has simple directions for children who may need a customized fit for a headband. It's funny how the simplest ideas can make life so much more enjoyable. Who'd have thought a head band could bring so much joy to this mom?
