There is nothing more special than a hand written note. It is not necessarily the particular words, not the beautiful picture nor the specific theme. A note becomes special because it is personal and from the heart. I have my own little stash of cards and notes and such which hold my lasting memories. As a child I loved to read my mother's recipe books, because that is where she would place the little notes, the poems and the pictures I gave her. One memorable note lovingly written in my best penmanship stated: "Dear Mom, I had an egg and two milk, and I washed my hands". I often wondered why she saved it. Was it the nutrition, the hygiene or the fact it was one of the few times she was not there to make breakfast for me?

I discovered a wonderful company, Keepsakes & Such which takes my mother's cookbook to a higher level! Lisa Sumowski created a darling tin filled with pretty little white cards simply stating "I wish…". Ones personal hopes and dreams and wishes for the recipient are to be written there. On the back is a designated spot for your name and the date. What a wonderful idea for a baby shower!

The green decal fancifully reads Wishes for My Baby™. There is a pale blue label for Baby Boy and a pretty two tone pink label for Baby Girl. Another beautiful tin features Prayers for My Baby™. I think this would be a wonderful christening gift or a special gift when meeting baby for the very first time.
