I clearly remember the excitement of knowing I would be a parent, the days of waiting, planning, precious shower gifts, smiles, advice, the rush to the hospital, waiting again, and finally - worshiping the first actual breath of my baby. There were flowers, visitors and I tried to absorb more advice and instructions. Little did I know when I arrived home I could not remember when I last fed the baby nor how long this new baby slept. We tried keeping a little record of the last diaper change, feedings, wake and sleep times but the notations were mostly scribbled in the dark.
Greg Sheldon, inventor and new father has created a wonderful device. It is a comprehensive baby care timer which helps sleep deprived parents remember basic details which make up the newborn's world. It combines four separate timer buttons on one handy tool.
Simply press on the diaper logo when baby is changed; the attractive digital display remembers for you. Press on the bottle logo when baby eats and the timer provides the memory. The switch with left and right positions helps the nursing mom remember from which side the baby last fed. I just love the "zzz" button which indicates when baby sleeps or wakes. A fourth timer, the asterisk, can time anything that is important and serves as a great reminder for medicine to be given at certain intervals.
Lightweight and attractive, about the size of a cell phone, there is a built in clip for secure attachment to a belt, diaper bag or pocket. The soft glow nightlight doubles as a handy flashlight. In addition, the buttons are well sized and have a backlight display for easy reading. I also love the feature of the built in clock.
