If you asked me to name three things that children love my answer would always be the same:  music, music, music. It is music that sustains us, enriches us and makes everything ok again. In my search for an extra special CD of original music I found a treasure to share with you.

This bright and witty music is delivered in a variety of styles from Latin to Rap to Country and Swing to Rock and Roll. It is upbeat and fun; it is about celebrating the loveliest things in every day life. We discover the secret ingredients in Granny's Soup, where she "adds noodles of love and sprinkles it with sunshine". I just love singing along with "Cheese cheese, I love Cheese. I'm as strong as Hercules!" in the Cheese Song. The sweet melody and the tender lyrics of Tooth Fairy "Tooth Fairy…do you remember me?" warm my soul.

This album was created by Elissa Oppenheim Schreiner who is acclaimed as a dynamic force in music and music composition.  With innumerable credits as music educator, composer, pianist and accompanist, Schreiner has embraced children and their music for over 25 years. 

Her CD "started as a dream, her very special dream, to create a different kind of children's album". She enlists the talents of her son, Gary Schreiner as producer, two of her grandchildren, Amanda and Lauren as vocalists and many other top musicians and former students to bring us this fabulous collection of original songs.

Aptly titled Grandma Rocks this set is wonderful for all ages, from little ones to the traveling soccer team. The variety is great, the tunes are compelling, the singers and instrumentalists are phenomenal. This is truly a gift from an incredible Grandma who lyrics touch my heart strings "I will listen carefully to what you say to me.
