"What a cute baby! How old is she?"
"Almost two!"
Lately, it seems like, whenever asked for my daughter's age, a parent's reaction is either "Ah, the terrible twos, good luck!" or "Oh, so potty training starting soon, hm?" I used to always answer "Yes!" to that last question with a not-so-convincing smile, up until Go Potty Go! DVD came along.
After sitting up, standing up, walking, and talking, being potty trained is for sure an important milestone in a tot's life. And it certainly isn't an easy one for the parents who are not always sure when, how to start, and how to make it a successful and non-dramatic transition.
This is why I love the Go Potty Go! DVD.
It was created by Mazzarella Media, a multi award-winning company, to help young children become grownups. Through the adventures of Paige and Parker Panda, this cartoon teaches in a simple, interactive, and fun way all the steps to become a big kid without a diaper: wearing underpants, using the potty chair, wiping their bottoms, and washing their hands with soap and water once finished. From the opening "Go Potty Go!" to the final "Big Kid Parade", the original and catchy songs give it a happy rhythmic and definitely diminish the seriousness or anxiety often present during that learning process.
What I found particularly interesting in this cartoon was the smart comparison made between:
-playing with babies' toys, wearing baby shoes and using diapers on one side,
-and riding a bike, swinging alone, tying shoes and using a potty chair on the other side.
In my opinion, it is a great implicit and entertaining way to make your child realize that he reaches that stage where he can try to wear underpants.
And it really works! After only two minutes of watching it, my daughter was already explaining to me the difference between a baby in diaper and a big kid using the potty chair. So, to all of you parents who think their baby is ready to become a big kid, check out Big Kids Video and order your copy today.
