My children just about attacked me when they saw my new Goosie flash cards. The boxes are bright blue and pink with an adorable boy and girls face on the front with a lift up flat that allows you a sneak peek inside. My children knew instantly that whatever was inside these super cool boxes was for them…they were right. These cards are huge, glossy, thick, durable, and washable. My two year olds knick name is “card bender” by her two older brothers who run from her when trying to play a game of cards, but there is no card bending with these cards. They are unbendable which means they will last longer than a week in my house which is so nice.
I sat on the floor with our new flash cards and my children sat with me, waiting in anticipation to see what was inside. I had four boxes, each with a different theme, Head to Toe, Animal Kingdom, ABC’s, and Trucks and Tractors. Each card has a beautiful picture on it with the word spelled below it. Before I knew it an hour had passed by and I realized that my four children and I had developed a fun game with Goosie cards. (okay maybe my four month didn’t actually play but he sat on my lap and drooled while the rest of us played).
First we went through each box in order and each child took turns guessing the right word, (I covered the word during the guess part) and then depending on the age of the child they then spelled the word. This may not sound very exciting but to find a game or toy that can hold the interest of a 6, 5, 2 and a 37 year old for an hour is quite something. This 37 year old learned that there are actual names for different tractors and trucks…who knew there is a difference between a front loader a backhoe and an excavator?
There is nothing better as a parent to discover a toy that is educational, entertaining, made in the USA, durable, and non electronic. Good old fashioned fun with great quality flash cards is what I found with Goosie. There are many other subjects that you can choose from depending on your child’s taste. Not to mention you can have your own Goosie cards custom made, just send in a picture of your loved one, your garden ECT... and you have your own beautiful cards that your child will already be familiar with.
Check out Goosie Cards; I’m so glad that I did. They get a double thumbs up from this mom!
