There is nothing more fun than "helping Mommy" in the kitchen. Our toddlers quickly learn to bring items to the recycle bin, transport dirty clothes to the laundry basket and pick up toys from the floor. Sometime they even bring them back to the toy shelves! However, it is so much more fun if "KP" involves a little food!
Now there are no more excuses not to let your little one help with the cooking, because I have discovered a great company for Mommy/Kiddie cooking. At Good Baby! Designs, they have got you covered! These good folks designed an apron made of extra heavy cotton which they tell us "will outlast anything your child dishes out". The aprons are also adorable! Designed to fit a toddler/preschooler they are fashioned with ample coverage over each shoulder, have great pockets and fasten in the back with two sturdy ties. The 100% cotton fabric comes in great patterns with bright-colorful stripes, swirls, circles and dots!
They also offer kid-sized oven mitts for the day when you graduate from the "no bake" cooking to the serious "now we will carefully take it out of the oven days". Their mitts come in colorful sets of two so each little hand and forearm is protected.
So have fun in the kitchen (remember the fun you had with your Mom) and dress your little one in the best, a Good Baby! Designs apron and mitts! In case you are stymied for an easy recipe, which will really test the efficacy of this great apron, I offer a simple and nutritious cookie recipe.
No Bake Peanut Butter Balls
½ C peanut butter
½ C honey
1 C crushed corn flakes cereal
2T powdered milk
Set corn flakes aside and mix other ingredients well. Roll into balls and then roll again in cornflakes until covered. Refrigerate the leftovers!
This is a great snack with milk.
