Do you know where old billboards go to retire? Here is a hint…it is not
South of the Border! Well, back in the 1830's, when outdoor advertising
first began, many of the billboards consisted of hand-painted signs. How beautiful they were but also very time consuming which restricted the
time it took to create and let alone, change the ads. Thank goodness for technology! Today's billboard images are computer-painted images
printed on PVC vinyl. They are very cost-effective to produce but due
to the nature of their use, they have a very short lifespan. Consequently,
bad news for our landfills.

Thank you to DadGear for coming up with a solution to the signage saga.
The environmentally friendly folks at DadGear (and DaisyGear) reclaim this waterproof and durable material before it hits our landfills and recraft it into colorful one-of-a-kind messenger bags. "Our Billboard Series bags are made in part from recycled highway billboards. We have our staff use their creativity in picking distinct patterns for each bag. We then have them sewn into unique panels incorporated in our bags and offer these to you. They will get some "flavor" in time with usage, which adds to their character."

When we met owner, Scott Shoemaker at the JMPA Show, we were blown away by DadGear's diaper bags. Not just because they are super cool looking and made from recycled material, but because they are also super functional. With features such as ample oversized pockets, adjustable shoulder strap, stroller hangers, removable front panels and the quick access wipes window with refillable wipes case; it is clear to see why DadGear stands out from the competition.

Be an ecologically responsible consumer and support companies that take into consideration the environmental impact of the products we buy. Head on over to DadGear this Father's Day and purchase Dad a Billboard Messenger Bag. "Going green" never felt so good or looked so cool!

DadGear Quick Access Wipes Case is a  2007 JPMA Innovation Award Winner. The patent pending Quick Access Wipes Case allows for single handed access to wipes. It's refillable and fits neatly into an integrated window in each DadGear or DaisyGear bag, making obtaining wipes extremely easy.
