Everyone loves a good book. Libraries are flourishing, book clubs are a major part of our lives and generations before us have acclaimed the power of the written word. For me, the traditional routine of reading a story just before saying goodnight and prayers makes bedtime the best part of the day.

I am celebrating the newest treasure in my library. Written by Jennifer Ormond, this newly published book tells the tale of the binky box. A successful business owner, wife and mother of three children with a new baby on the way the author shares a tradition that originated with her family. "The binky box was so successful with my family, I wanted to share it with yours."   The philosophy of "giving up something that makes us feel secure is a tough thing to do. Baby's Binky Box gives a child the tools to make a well thought out decision and have some control over this difficult process."

The size of this wonderful new book is perfect.  It is small enough for a toddler to hold independently. The quality of the paper is great with a glossy coating which looks good, feels good and is very durable. The design and layout is perfect; the pages are secure and open easily for a full view. The illustrations by Curt Walstead are delightful. Each image captures the essence of the two best friends, Binky and Baby.

The message in this book is imaginative and creative while still being practical. It delightfully portrays a sense of Baby's  trust, new found independence and family security. You will be thrilled to have this book for a special read. Better buy two because there will be a friend who, when she sees it will want it for her very own tot.
